Our story began in 2002, when Mel Lamont Sr. (a.k.a. Big Mel) purchased Houston Embroidery Works, a company solely focused on monograms for individuals.
Mel Sr. spent the next 11 years shifting the core business focus to a business-to-business marketing strategy. In 2005, his twin sons, Mel Jr. and Jerry, also joined the company after serving in Iraq in the U.S. Marine Corp. The Lamonts’ dedication and work to the business grew the company 20 times in size, resulting in it being in the top 3 percent of all companies in the industry.

In 2013, the Lamonts restructured Houston Embroidery Works and created Lamont Brands, Inc. as a HUB certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Starting out as a monogram shop in Houston, Lamont Brands expanded their in-house capabilities services to include screen printing, embroidery, laser engraving, heat press transfers, vinyl cutting, eCommerce and on-site fulfillment services.
Lamont Brands also partnered with several industry-leading vendors to provide customers with promotional needs – from personalized items, safety/PPE products to corporate gifts, Lamont Brands can do it all!
